Is it impossible to treat psychopaths?
Salekin’s (2002) review of 42 studies found that 60% of psychopathic patients benefitted from therapy. However, for a complex condition such as psychopathy, more elaborate and intensive intervention programs, including individual psychotherapy and family therapy may be needed. More Recent reviews by Salekin and colleagues also support this notion (Salekin, Worley, & Grimes, 2010; BSL).
