Dr. Randall Salekin, Lab Director
AboutDr. Randall T. Salekin, received his Ph.D. from the University of North Texas and completed his clinical internship at Yale University. His primary research and clinical interests are in the study of Conduct Disorder (CD) and its affiliated personality traits. Specifically, his interests center on studying CD along with grandiose-manipulative (GM), callous-unemotional (CU), and daring-impulsive (DI) traits. His research team uses behavioral based measures as well as psychophysiological measurement to address study questions. He has a neuroscience focus. Many studies include the use of electroencephalogram (EEG) to better understand the neurodynamics of CD. To a lesser extent, Dr. Salekin is interested in issues pertaining to disposition evaluations for young offenders, and the evaluation of youth facing transfer to adult court (e.g., developmental maturity). Dr. Salekin is in the Clinical Child track but does have some crossover with respect to interests, with the Psychology and Law track.
Dr. Salekin believes in the mentor model with respect to student progress through the program. He sees mentoring as critical to student learning, development, and career growth. |
